During our website the only problems we had was the Internet not working every lesson, we didn’t get all of the information we needed on time. The project also took a lot longer then we thought but we did finally get it done on time and handed in to our client. It was often hard to follow our Gantt chart because we didn’t have the information at the time so we had to do it differently but overall the project worked out well and they may now use of new site on the Internet.

This has reached the clients needs it is more up to date, modern looking and the information needed is easy to find and navigate their way around the site. The information does reach the clients needs because it has the information they wanted onto the site. All of the sites link up together and the information they wanted on the website is now there. It is much better looking, the colours look better together and the website flows more, the same colours and layouts are used throughout the whole website so it isn’t confusing for the user to navigate there way around the site. The site is easy to read, the writing stands out and there isn’t too much information on every page that you have to scroll down for. The purpose of this site was to inform people and up date the site and we have achieved this, its up to date and everything links up.

The data we have now put onto the Donald High School website it up to date, its effective and it now looks like a website that you would want to visit. It doesn’t have colours that don’t look good together instead we have used the high school colours that look nice together. The information is now clearly placed on the website. The links are easily found and all of the links actually link up and are up to date and the pages actually load. All of the pages we have work and have the information that parents, students, teachers or any future parents, students and teachers would want to know about the school and what it has to offer. Having students make this website has cost less for the school, they didn’t have to hirer anyone to do it for them the students have done it in class. They don’t have to make 30 copies of the VCE handbook each year because it is now on the Internet and the students and parents can access it whenever they want. If there is a new subject or a change to the subject then it can be easily up dated and they don’t have to print out more copies just for a little change. With the new website there are now new pages that weren’t on the last one and pages that was no longer necessary

The characteristics of the website will be that it will contain the colours of our school such as maroon, blue and gold. It will also have pages with subject offered at the school, the school, teachers and other information that future people to the school would like to know about.

Constraints we have may have in this project could be not being able to get all the information we require for the website. Also other constraints could be the computers not working and not being able to access the Internet to look at the old website to get the old information off it that we require. Also if our group tries to do something new that we are unsure of how to do, we could then get behind and not get the website finished on time. Also if we don’t stick to our Gantt chart we will get far behind and not be able to finish the website on its due date. The website needs to be easy for teachers, parents and students to access and to be able to find the information they need to know about the school and events that are happening at the time.
